Reinvigorating one of England's finest heritage brands

Penhaligon’s is one of the few British perfume houses in the world today. Throughout its 135-year history the brand has stood for luxury, prestige and elegance. Their perfumes are iconic pieces of design that defined an era.

Our Solution

We lovingly re-crafted the wordmark, adopting a more contemporary case structure and conceived the new simplified supporting line ‘EST. LONDON 1870’. Reconsidering the rules around usage and placement of the two royal warrants was also essential in order for the new visual identity to be applied with ease across a number of new boutiques around the world — each with varying styles of interior and exterior design, from traditional to contemporary.

The Challenge

MONOGRAM was commissioned to update and refresh the logotype in order to modernise and broaden the brand’s appeal in the competitive world of perfumery. Penhaligon’s are the holders of two royal warrants. These are recognition of personal service of a high order. Our biggest challenge was how to stay true to the brand’s heritage and tradition yet introduce a more contemporary feel.
